About the Event
Uniting the Heart of Heaven with the Heart of our Mother Earth
Thousands of years ago, our ancestors, the Great Sages, lit the Sacred Fire and it has never gone out. It is our light, it is the warmth of our spirit, it is the flame that keeps us united and connected to the Heart of Heaven.
Today, in these difficult and prophetic times, we feel a sense of separation and disconnect, the flame from the Sacred Fire is here to ignite deep within our beings the remembrance of our connection to spirit and to each other. The flame of the ancestral fire can ignite in the depth of our being, the sacred fire of our consciousness. We just need to open the spaces within.
Since time immemorial, the wise Mayan Grandparents have preformed the Traditional Fire Ceremony as a sacred ritual of unity and gratitude where our personal and group prayers are raised through the Sacred Smoke. Fire acts as a great catalyst, which then gives strength to our intentions, generating a powerful impulse that has great powers of transformation.
Within the Mayan Creation story, Ajaw, or Great Spirit/Source, gave a piece of Truth to all the tribes of humanity, so that in this time we are living in now, we would begin to understand that by weaving all our teachings together, we would remember Unity and finally understand our place within the Cosmos. This is why when we hold space for the Traditional Mayan Fire Ceremony it is a space where everyone is welcome regardless of age, sex, race or personal beliefs.
Around the Sacred Fire we unite by invoking the 20 energies of the Sacred Calendar, the Cholq’ij, while silently making our own personal prayers. A space in which we do not focus on our differences, but on our similarities. A safe space in which we present ourselves before the Great Spirit with only our hearts. Entering into harmony with ourselves, each other and all the elements surrounding us. Here we create a space where we connect and unite the Heart of Heaven with the Heart of our Mother Earth.
We invite you to join us as we light the Sacred Fire on November 19th .... 9 Tzi’kin on the sacred calendar. The Eagle, the visionary, Tz’ikin is an energy which brings abundance, joy, and good luck. It is an energy that can help us to open a new portal and present us with new perspectives and possibilities.
It is time for us to reconnect with ourselves and to each other. A new cycle is beginning. It is time for us to remember how beautiful working together in harmony can be.
Please bring 20 white or yellow candles to add to the fire your personal prayers as well as any offering such as chocolate, cinnamon, incense, flowers, herbs, candies, and other sweets. We are asking for a donation of $80 to help cover Tata and Ricardo’s travel expenses, and a portion will be donated to the Yellow Barn Farm for use of their beautiful land. Please let us know if this is too much for you and we can make adjustments.
There will be a potluck after the ceremony, so please bring something to share. There is a fridge available for items needing to be kept cold. PLEASE plan to arrive 20-30 minutes PRIOR to the start time, as we will be starting promptly at 4pm to build the ceremonial fire pit.
