Adopt a Tree

On October 17th, we are partnering with the Zach Bush Foundation for the ORIGIN event.

The Boulder satellite event will be at Yellow Barn and is organized through the Shine Sisters to “Keep Boulder Wild”.

As part of the event, we will be planting 10 apple trees, surrounded by a guild of shrubs.

Will you adopt a tree or shrub and help plant it with us on Oct 17?

What We’re Planting:
9 apple trees

Companion Shrubs:

9 Lavender

9 Lemon balm

9 Comfrey

9 Yarrow

Egyptian walking onion seeds

Total Cost: $1,687

Yellow Barn Farm’s Adopt-a-Tree Program

What this is:

  1. Choose your plant. Tree, shrub or seeds.

  2. Plant it. Come plant your offering on Oct 17th.

  3. Add your tag. Add your name to the Adopt-a-Tree wall.

  4. Watch it grow. Come visit your plant throughout the year.

What this is not:

Ownership, or a guaranteed harvest. Trees grow on a twenty-year timeline. Some don’t make it. But the effort is made by community plantings and ongoing support to continue tending our baby trees, shrubs, and plants.

Choose your plant:

  • One tree, planted: $101 × 9

  • One shrub, planted: $21 × 36

  • Seeds planted: $11 × 6

  • Donate one-time, monthly, or annually to the Adopt-a-Tree fund.

  • Funds cover: tree/shrub, compost, mulch, and tree fencing

Over the years, we have planted 8,000 trees and shrubs at Yellow Barn Farm with the help of our partner organizations, community members, and collaborators.

In the coming years, we’d like to see that number reach 10,000+
