Clay Painting Workshop & Community Project for Children's Classroom at YBF

  • Yellow Barn Farm 9417 North Foothills Hwy Longmont United States (map)

Wildflower Project is working with Canelo Project to use a natural clay paint (aliz) to finish their new classroom at Yellow Barn! Come learn about natural building and painting materials in this one-day workshop and community project.

ABOUT THE EDUCATORS:

Lisa and Lindee are artists and educators. The intention behind their work is to foster connection with land and community. They are passionate about teaching sustainable ways of creating.

Clay paint, also known as aliz, has been a traditional finish for walls in arid climates around the world. With experience from the Canelo Project to Morroco, Lisa and Lindee invite the class to share their knowledge of the complete process of clay painting, including harvesting clay from the Yellow Barn farm land, making the paint mixture, and putting it on the wall. We hope you’ll join us!

SCHEDULE:
9am-12pm: Workshop intro and first half of painting
12-1pm: Bring a picnic lunch!
1-4pm: Finishing painting and closing

No cost, but rsvp is necessary as we are limited on physical space.

Stopping by to check out the process at any time is also welcome.
