Spring Farm Tour & Film Screening

Spring Farm Tour & Common Ground Screening

Join us for a Spring Farm tour of Yellow Barn Farm as we'll walk together around the property, visit the animals on site and learn about how they help contribute to the regenerative cycle of farming in partnership with DAR.

After we walk and mingle about the farm, we welcome you to stay for a screening of the incredible film Common Ground, in the Yellow Barn. The film highlights several celebrities' exploration of how many of the problems that all humans face, connect to the state of the world's soil. Additionally the film shares stories from several independent farmers from around the US on how implementing historic indigenous techniques demonstrate how changing agricultural practices can save the world. This film is an absolute must see and will be streaming worldwide on Prime, but we suggest cozying up in community at the farm for a more authentic experience!

Come for both the tour + film, or just one or the other.

Light bites will be available for purchase!

Carpool if you can and bring water and comfortable walking shoes for the tour!

Flow of the Day:

10:30-12pm Farm Tour of Yellow Barn

12-1pm Lunch

1:30-4pm Common Ground screening + panel discussion

There will be movement, games, arts & crafts and more surprises. No specific skills or artistic abilities are required, just an open mind and a willingness to connect & laugh at yourself.

It’s like a workout for your spirit — a chance to let loose, recharge and rediscover the power of play.

* Local food available all day!
* This event will continue rain, snow or shine (fingers crossed for shine)

RSVP: Your participation is a vital thread in the fabric of our community! It's always a radical time to come together to jam, plant and participate in tending to this Earth with purpose & play.

Why Plant Trees?

  • We believe in a livable future

  • We want to retain more water to grow food and address widespread food insecurity

  • To continue to research what works and what doesn't

  • To replant species that are thriving - we've been tracking what trees do best in our bioregion for 8 years!

  • To connect with each other and build community - involving our youth every step of the way!

  • Trees are the cornerstone of our regenerative design (restoring topsoil, inviting biodiversity, and sequestering carbon!)

  • They are the breath of our ecosystem, vital to the resurgence of life in Boulder County

In the face of desertification, where our land lies bare and biodiversity scarce, we see not desolation but potential.
