Yoga in the Barn with Amelia

Find Your Balance, in the Barn

Sun-Tān: Stretch, Shine, and Settle

A playful summer yoga class to rise with energy and soften into stillness.

Join Amelia Schaffner (@z.tasty.life), certified yoga instructor and Yellow Barn Soil Share member, for a soulful session inspired by the warmth of the sun and the Sanskrit word tān—to stretch, expand, and extend.

We’ll begin with grounding postures that build balance and strength (drawing from the 26+2 tradition), then ease into long, restful Yin shapes to release tension and reconnect.

🗓 June 16, 6:30–7:30pm

📍 Yellow Barn Farm

🌿 All levels welcome. Bring a mat and your summer spirit.

Come stretch toward your own light—and leave restored.

Foraging Workshop

Join us for an early evening walk around Yellow Barn as we explore the abundant world of wild and native plants growing all around us. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll learn how to safely identify both edible and medicinal plants, diving into their culinary uses, healing properties, and how they’ve been traditionally used for generations. Whether you’re new to foraging or looking to deepen your plant knowledge, this is a chance to connect with the land and discover the gifts growing right at our feet.

Yoshua Greenfield is a wild food enthusiast, homesteader in Boulder, and a bunch of other things one might be in such a vast world. Community Healing Circle

Community Healing Circle

Community Healing Circle

After the tragic event in Boulder, many of us are feeling shaken, overwhelmed, or unsure what to do with all the emotion in our bodies.

This Tuesday, Yellow Barn will be an open space for a Community Healing Circle—a trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware gathering for reflection, regulation, and aligned action.

We’ll come together to:
🧘‍♀️ Ground and regulate our nervous systems
📝 Journal about what community and healing mean to us
🔥 Share space + participate in a grief-to-action ritual
💌 Leave with a small, intentional next step to carry forward

This is a space for breath, for presence, for simply being human together.
You don’t need to say anything, do anything, or fix anything.

Just come as you are.

Fermentation/ Preservation Workshop

Fermentation/ Preservation Workshop

Join us for a 90-minute hands-on demo exploring the art of fermentation and preservation, inspired by the weekly food rescue drop from We Don’t Waste. We’ll dive into creative ways to work with rescued and abundant produce—think dried fruits, hot sauce from fermented peppers, garlic honey, and more.

Yoshua Greenfield is a writer, homesteader, and educator based in Boulder, Colorado, where he stewards a five-acre regenerative homestead with his family. With over a decade of experience teaching fermentation, food preservation, and land-based living, Yoshua blends ancestral wisdom with playful presence. Formerly one half of the YouTube duo Brothers Green, he’s now focused on slowing down, reconnecting with nature, and helping others discover the magic of microbes through hands-on, accessible and intuitive classes.

This class is open to all ages and experience levels. While it’s primarily a demonstration, you’re encouraged to bring any excess produce or foods you’d like to learn how to preserve or ferment.

Come curious, leave inspired!

RSVP: Your participation is a vital thread in the fabric of our community! It's always a radical time to come together to jam, plant and participate in tending to this Earth with purpose & play.

Why Plant Trees?

  • We believe in a livable future

  • We want to retain more water to grow food and address widespread food insecurity

  • To continue to research what works and what doesn't

  • To replant species that are thriving - we've been tracking what trees do best in our bioregion for 8 years!

  • To connect with each other and build community - involving our youth every step of the way!

  • Trees are the cornerstone of our regenerative design (restoring topsoil, inviting biodiversity, and sequestering carbon!)

  • They are the breath of our ecosystem, vital to the resurgence of life in Boulder County

In the face of desertification, where our land lies bare and biodiversity scarce, we see not desolation but potential.
