Massages by the Creek

Massages by the Creek

Experience the peacefulness of Yellow Barn Farm in a whole new way with our newest summer offering: relaxing, hour-long massages by the creek, tucked in the shade and surrounded by nature.

Kerin is a massage therapist & somatic bodyworker. Her work is rooted in the belief that embodiment is not just a practice, but a remembering — a return to the wisdom, rhythm, and truth already living inside the body.

She offers intuitive, restorative sessions that weave together deep tissue, lymphatic therapy, craniosacral work, structural bodywork, and nervous system regulation. Every session is shaped by what’s present — whether it’s physical tension, emotional weight, or the simple need to feel more at home in your body.

She's completed over 740 hours of trauma-informed, integrative massage and somatic education through the Pacific Center for Awareness & Bodywork (PCAB) in Kauai, Hawaii. This work is her way of offering presence, care, and support to those on their own embodiment journey.

Kerin will be set up from 9am-5pm on Wednesdays, we ask that you secure you’re time slot and feel free to add on a sauna/cold plunge session before or after your massage for the ultimate spa day at the farm!

Welcome Wednesday + Midsummer BBQ Community Meal

Welcome Wednesday + Midsummer BBQ Community Meal

An Abundant Summer Feast with John Clay & Yoshua Greenfield

Join us for a special midsummer BBQ at Yellow Barn Farm, where chefs John Clay and Yoshua Greenfield will craft a fire-cooked feast rooted in local meat from DAR, peak-season produce, and a deep reverence for land, life, and flavor.

This won’t be your average BBQ—expect mind-melting fermented delights, smoked meats, home-cured meats, and fresh goat cheese. Every bite is a celebration of creativity, passion, and community connection, all sourced as locally as possible.

🍴 Meet the Chefs

Yoshua Greenfield, founder of You Enjoy Life Homestead in North Boulder, is dedicated to reconnecting people with traditional food systems, self-sufficiency, and sacred practices. With deep roots in fermentation, permaculture, and foraging, his food carries intention, nourishment, and soul.

John Clay has spent his life immersed in food from the ground up—farming, butchering, and cooking with heart. Formerly head butcher at Wyebrook Farm, he brings a reverence for nature and a gift for teaching others how to truly engage with their food.

What to Expect

• A seasonally inspired, fire-cooked feast

• Pasture-raised smoked and slow cooked meat from DAR

• Peak freshness veggies such as Heirloom tomatoes, summer squash, stone fruit, and more

• Ferments, sourdough, home-cured meats, fresh goat cheese, and creative twists throughout

• A gathering rooted in local sourcing, community support, and deep summer joy

Come hungry. Leave inspired.

*While this meal will have plenty of meat, we will have gluten free and vegetarian options.

Our regular program of Welcome Wednesday will remain the same on Wednesday July 30th, including:

  • Co-working, Open House/Office Hours 9am-5pm

  • Farm Tours 12:30 & 5:30

Midsummer BBQ Community Meal will be around 6pm!

Moon Over Fire: Ayurvedic Workshop

Moon Over Fire: Ayurvedic Workshop

Moon Over Fire: Ayurvedic Workshop

Moon Over Fire: A Yoga Journey for Pitta Harmony
A grounding yoga journey to transform inner fire into radiant peace.

Moon Over Fire is a soulful introduction to understanding and harmonizing Pitta dosha—the Ayurvedic force of fire, transformation, and intensity. In this immersive workshop, we’ll explore how Pitta manifests within the body, mind, and emotions, and how it influences the world around us. Through this lens of awareness, we’ll learn to recognize the signs of imbalance—overheating, irritability, burnout—and begin to cultivate tools to restore equilibrium.

To embody this wisdom, we’ll move through a grounding and restorative practice that blends cooling asana, soothing pranayama, and sacred mantra to calm the inner flame. With each breath and movement, we alchemize fire into clarity, anger into insight, and striving into surrender. Whether you’re navigating the heat of summer, the pressure of perfectionism, or simply seeking stillness amidst intensity, this series invites you into a sanctuary of calm—where cooling energies and lunar grace restore your natural rhythm and inner peace.

Participants Will Learn:

  • The nature of Pitta Dosha and its role in the body and mind

  • How aggravation of Pitta can lead to dis-ease

  • Mantra and Pranayama practices for cultivating coolness in the body and mind

  • An all-levels yoga practice that can be utilized whenever the call to slow down, cool down, or become more grounded is needed.

Presenter: Kelly Coleman: Ayurvedic counselor, educator & E-RYT 200

“Over the past 15 years, I have immersed myself in the study and practice of Ayurveda, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Raja Yoga—disciplines that have become pillars of my life.

At the core of my work lies a mission: to inspire meaningful growth and connection. My approach integrates physical wellness, mental clarity, and spiritual harmony—empowering individuals to unlock their highest potential.

In every role I take on—as a teacher, presenter, or guide—my purpose remains clear: to help others awaken their potential one curiosity, one practice, and one connection at a time. Together, we can create lives filled with balance, purpose, and joy—a reflection of the infinite possibilities within us all.”

Calling all Carnivores, Omnivores, and Meat Curious Vegetarians/Vegans,

Join us at Yellow Barn Farm for an evening of cooking all things protein. Specifically the animal based kind. Our goal is for everyone to leave the class feeling empowered to make dinner for themselves, their friends, their families, and even the intimidating dinner party!

Key Takeaways:

-basic animal anatomy to assist in your cooking approach

-selecting the right cut for the right occasion and skill level

-the 3 basic meat cooking techniques: direct heat, indirect heat, and liquid

-preparation of cuts including: marinating, brining, curing, etc.

-helpful culinary equipment and how to use them

The instructors: Yoshua Greenfield & John Clay

Yoshua is the founder of You Enjoy Life Homestead, an educational homestead in North Boulder dedicated to reconnecting people with traditional food systems, self-sufficiency, and sacred practices. With years of experience in fermentation, regenerative farming, and ceremonial animal harvesting, Yoshua invites people into a deeper relationship with the land, food, and the cycles of life and death.

John Clay has spent his adult life deeply immersed in all aspects of the food world—from cooking to growing to butchering. He previously served as the head whole-animal butcher at Wyebrook Farm, a regenerative farm in Pennsylvania, and has managed permaculture and organic farms in Maine. John’s deep reverence for nature and passion for teaching others how to interact with food forms the foundation of his work.

Writing Circle

Writing With The Land

A Monthly Community Writing Circle
Hosted by Scott Youmans at Yellow Barn Farm

Join us each month at Yellow Barn Farm for Writing with the Land, a restorative writing circle guided by Scott Youmans—Transformative Language Artist, Multifaith Chaplain (including Earth-centered traditions and Humanism), Technologist, Author, and Facilitator. Scott creates spaces for connection and transformation, accompanying beings on meaningful journeys.

This gathering invites you to slow down, root into place, and explore your relationship with the Earth through the written word. Whether you're a seasoned farmer, weekend gardener, curious poet, or simply seeking deeper connection to nature, this retreat welcomes all. Each session focuses on a seasonal theme—like soil stories, rhythms of the land, or the wisdom of water—and includes poetry, reflective prompts, and space for open, heartfelt sharing in a circle of generous listening.

We'll write outdoors at picnic tables or in the Yellow Barn (weather permitting). No writing experience is needed—just bring a notebook, your favorite non-alcoholic drink, and an open heart. We'll provide the chocolate and encouragement.

Foraging Workshop

Join us for an early evening walk around Yellow Barn as we explore the abundant world of wild and native plants growing all around us. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll learn how to safely identify both edible and medicinal plants, diving into their culinary uses, healing properties, and how they’ve been traditionally used for generations. Whether you’re new to foraging or looking to deepen your plant knowledge, this is a chance to connect with the land and discover the gifts growing right at our feet.

Yoshua Greenfield is a wild food enthusiast, homesteader in Boulder, and a bunch of other things one might be in such a vast world. Drawing from years of culinary exploration and a deep connection to nature, Yoshua guides others in rediscovering ancestral wisdom through hands-on foraging and simple, intuitive, seasonal, cooking.

All levels welcome. Come ready to walk, observe, taste, and learn.

Community Healing Circle

Community Healing Circle

After the tragic event in Boulder, many of us are feeling shaken, overwhelmed, or unsure what to do with all the emotion in our bodies.

This Tuesday, Yellow Barn will be an open space for a Community Healing Circle—a trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware gathering for reflection, regulation, and aligned action.

We’ll come together to:
🧘‍♀️ Ground and regulate our nervous systems
📝 Journal about what community and healing mean to us
🔥 Share space + participate in a grief-to-action ritual
💌 Leave with a small, intentional next step to carry forward

This is a space for breath, for presence, for simply being human together.
You don’t need to say anything, do anything, or fix anything.

Just come as you are.

📍 The Yellow Barn Farm
🗓 Tuesday, June 3rd
⏰ 6:30-8:00pm
