Join us at Yellow Barn Farm for the 4th Annual Yellow Barn Film Festival, a full day of films, food, farm experiences, and community connection. Set on 100 acres in the foothills outside Longmont, the festival brings together filmmakers, farmers, artists, and community members for a day centered around stories that invite us to look more closely at our relationship with land, water, food, and one another.
Throughout the day, guests will have the opportunity to experience a thoughtfully curated selection of feature films and short documentaries, enjoy food from the farm, explore Yellow Barn Farm, and connect with the people behind the films. Between screenings, there will be opportunities for conversation, a farm tour, and time to gather around the fire with dinner and s’mores.
The festival is an opportunity to slow down, spend a day together outdoors, and experience the power of film as a way to spark curiosity, conversation, and connection. Whether you’re coming for a particular film or planning to spend the whole day at the farm, we invite you to join us for this annual celebration of storytelling and community.
Event Schedule:
11:00 AM–1:00 PM — The River
The River is an 88-minute documentary exploring the Colorado River and the millions of people and ecosystems that depend on it. The screening will be followed by a talkback Q&A.
1:00–2:00 PM — Lunch + Farm Tour
Enjoy some pizza and hop on an optional farm tour led by Azuraye Wycoff. Learn more about the Yellow Barn Farm and the regenerative ecosystem developing on the land.
2:00–3:00 PM — Pocket Docs + Talkback Q&A
A collection of short community-made documentaries followed by a conversation and Q&A with participating filmmakers.
3:30–5:00 PM — The Blue Trail
To maximize economic productivity, the Brazilian government orders elderly people to move to remote housing colonies. A 77-year-old woman refuses and embarks on a journey through the Amazon that will change her destiny forever.
5:00–6:30 PM — Dinner + S’mores
Dinner will be available for purchase and there will also be a fire pit and all the sweet fixings for s'mores!
Good to Know:
Tickets are available online and can also be purchased day-of.
Please arrive early; the house opens 10 minutes before each screening.
Free parking is available along the main road when entering the property.
Accessible parking and restrooms are available.
All screenings are wheelchair accessible, though roads on the property are dirt.
Concessions and popcorn will be available.
Dinner will be available for purchase.
And if you wear yellow socks, tell a ticket taker for a chance to receive a YBF sticker.
