Sacred Sandhill Crane Dance Ceremony — at Yellow Barn Farm

An immersive ceremonial gathering rooted in Earth-honoring traditions, organized by Lisamarie Coyote Windwalker, inviting participants into connection with land, elements, and ancestral movement practices.

Yellow Barn Farm, in partnership with Lisamarie Coyote Windwalker and the Mystic Pulse community, proudly hosts a Sacred Sandhill Crane Dance Ceremony, featuring guided ceremonial dance, live drumming, and sand painting, blending movement, ritual, and Earth-based practices.

This special event serves as a ceremonial gathering and invites the community to gather for connection, reflection, and shared experience with land and one another.

Highlights / What to Expect:

Please commit to being present, on time, and for the entire Ceremony. When people show up on time, there is no distraction from the ceremony by latecomers. All are able to commit, cooperate and contribute to the sacredness of this dance.

  • 9:30am – Dancers and Holders arrive at Yellow Barn Farm, meet greeter to get oriented, place potluck offerings on picnic tables, and settle quietly into the circle with chair or blanket.

  • 10am – Welcome Dancers, Short Meditation/Land Acknowledgement, Introductions and Teachings of the Sandhill Crane Dance.

  • 10:45am – Learn the Dance.

  • 12:15pm – Noble Silence-Bio Break- Drink water, eat if needed. Change into ceremonial clothing, if need be, put on white headbands & rattles, plus two drummers. All meet at HU-shrine for smudging.

  • 12:45pm – Dance the Sandhill Crane Dance.

  • 1:45pm – Sacred Council Share- Circle up for Sacred Council Share, if an intimate group. If large group, Dancers and Dance Holders Circle up around Sandpainting, and go around and offer one word, one gesture or one sound that reflects what is most alive for them in that moment.

  • 3pm – Eat the Ceremony (Outdoor Potluck). Please bring your own plate/bowl, drinking vessel, and eating utensils to use.

  • 4:30pm – Community Clean Up. Please pack out everything you brought to this Sandhill Crane Dance ceremony and please bless the Land by restoring it to the way it was when we began. There will be a cleanup guide to assist us all.

Featuring Lisamarie Coyote Windwalker, ceremonial facilitator, joined by their drum team: Jason Dragon Ruby, Tony Rodriguez, and Johnnie Cloudsong Heider-Kuhn, with sand painting.
