Welcome From the Yellow Barn Film Festival Team
IT ALL STARTED WITH AN IDEA. OR, MAYBE A FILM CLASS. OR, MAYBE…
... we could say that the Yellow Barn Film Festival was born this year. We could say that it was born last year, when Devon first had the idea to screen films in this historic barn. But the truth of the matter is, the Yellow Barn Film Festival has been in the works long before we curated the remarkable program you’re about to witness and enjoy.
Film festivals are special. They bring together artists, film aficionados, casual movie goers and the film-curious together under one roof (or barn) to witness the powerful art of cinematic storytelling. They challenge and inspire.
This farm is also incredibly special. What was once a historic dairy farm and an international equestrian center, has now transformed into a regenerative farm, ripe and blooming with creativity and passion.
Then, maybe, this was always meant to be.
Thank you for joining us for our inaugural season, and here’s to many more.

Welcome From the Yellow Barn Farm
WHERE YOU ARE STANDING TODAY ALMOST DID NOT EXIST.
In October of 2020, the Cal-Wood fire swept through this beautiful patch of Land, stopping mere feet from our vital farm structures. And from the ashes of near-devastation, the Yellow Barn Farm was born.
Since our founding, we’ve accomplished quite a lot. We’ve partnered with a remarkable non-profit, Drylands Agroecology Research, to heal our scorched, overgazed land through regenerative agriculture. We’ve incubated dozens of small businesses, providing them with resources, infrastructure, and office space to help their projects thrive. We’ve hosted hundreds of events, from wellness classes to leadership summits to agriculture-focused workshops, and more.
And now, we are delighted to bring forth a celebration of Coloradan and Indigenous artistry, community, and the Land which has survived so much, and which brings us all together.
From our family to yours, we welcome you to the 1st Yellow Barn Film Festival. Enjoy!
Most Sincerely,
AZURAYE WYCOFF
