Writing With The Land
A Monthly Community Writing Circle
Hosted by Scott Youmans at Yellow Barn Farm
Join us each month at Yellow Barn Farm for Writing with the Land, a restorative writing circle guided by Scott Youmans—Transformative Language Artist, Multifaith Chaplain (including Earth-centered traditions and Humanism), Technologist, Author, and Facilitator. Scott creates spaces for connection and transformation, accompanying beings on meaningful journeys.
This gathering invites you to slow down, root into place, and explore your relationship with the Earth through the written word. Whether you're a seasoned farmer, weekend gardener, curious poet, or simply seeking deeper connection to nature, this retreat welcomes all. Each session focuses on a seasonal theme—like soil stories, rhythms of the land, or the wisdom of water—and includes poetry, reflective prompts, and space for open, heartfelt sharing in a circle of generous listening.
We'll write outdoors at picnic tables or in the Yellow Barn (weather permitting). No writing experience is needed—just bring a notebook, your favorite non-alcoholic drink, and an open heart. We'll provide the chocolate and encouragement.

Massages by the Creek
Massages by the Creek
Experience the peacefulness of Yellow Barn Farm in a whole new way with our newest summer offering: relaxing, hour-long massages by the creek, tucked in the shade and surrounded by nature.
Kerin is a massage therapist & somatic bodyworker. Her work is rooted in the belief that embodiment is not just a practice, but a remembering — a return to the wisdom, rhythm, and truth already living inside the body.
She offers intuitive, restorative sessions that weave together deep tissue, lymphatic therapy, craniosacral work, structural bodywork, and nervous system regulation. Every session is shaped by what’s present — whether it’s physical tension, emotional weight, or the simple need to feel more at home in your body.
She's completed over 740 hours of trauma-informed, integrative massage and somatic education through the Pacific Center for Awareness & Bodywork (PCAB) in Kauai, Hawaii. This work is her way of offering presence, care, and support to those on their own embodiment journey.
Kerin will be set up from 9am-5pm on Wednesdays, we ask that you secure you’re time slot and feel free to add on a sauna/cold plunge session before or after your massage for the ultimate spa day at the farm!

Welcome Wednesday + Midsummer BBQ Community Meal
An Abundant Summer Feast with John Clay & Yoshua Greenfield
Join us for a special midsummer BBQ at Yellow Barn Farm, where chefs John Clay and Yoshua Greenfield will craft a fire-cooked feast rooted in local meat from DAR, peak-season produce, and a deep reverence for land, life, and flavor.
This won’t be your average BBQ—expect mind-melting fermented delights, smoked meats, home-cured meats, and fresh goat cheese. Every bite is a celebration of creativity, passion, and community connection, all sourced as locally as possible.
🍴 Meet the Chefs
Yoshua Greenfield, founder of You Enjoy Life Homestead in North Boulder, is dedicated to reconnecting people with traditional food systems, self-sufficiency, and sacred practices. With deep roots in fermentation, permaculture, and foraging, his food carries intention, nourishment, and soul.
John Clay has spent his life immersed in food from the ground up—farming, butchering, and cooking with heart. Formerly head butcher at Wyebrook Farm, he brings a reverence for nature and a gift for teaching others how to truly engage with their food.
